What are multimedia learning principles? - Concept Map
The concept map below was designed with Adobe Photoshop to address the question, "What are multimedia learning principles?". The principles were arranged into two groups, basic principles and advanced principles. All multimedia principles are implemented with the intent to improve learning so I chose to stem all information from the phrase, "Improve learning by." When the viewer follows the arrow to the next word or group of words they receive a better understanding of the elements of multimedia learning and how they are connected to each other.
To show contrast, grouping, and unity a different color was chosen for basic principles and advanced principles. Within each group a different saturation of the original color was used to show contrast between the different levels of information. In addition, to show unity the same type was used through out and a different type font size was used consistently for each level of information. Signals were provided with arrows and lines and all information was presented from left to right and top to bottom in order to ensure the viewer could easily access the information.
