What is effective graphic design? - Concept Map
The concept map below was designed to address the question, "What is effective graphic design?". I focused on three essential components: building blocks, design principles, and keys to a successful design. I then emphasized key elements within each component. To show contrast, unity and grouping I provided each group of terms with a different color. By assigning each group a different color I was able to easily show grouping as well as unity among connected elements. I also changed the saturation of the color to establish the different levels within each group. In addition, I provided visual cues and sequencing with arrows and lines. Finally, to create a visual hierarchy, I kept the flow of information from left to right and top to bottom. Overall, the concept map provides a clear explanation of essential elements in graphic design and how they are connected to each other.
