Instructional Video Production - Talking Head
This video was designed for Spanish I, II and III students to watch at the beginning of each semester. It can also be shown to new students in order to help them understand the requirements and expectations of their Weekly Spanish Listening Assignment. The video introduces a listening assignment that will be submitted weekly during the semester. Throughout the video numerous multimedia learning principles and CRAP principles were applied. First, the video is segmented into bite size pieces so learners have enough time to process and store the information. The signaling principle is applied towards the end of the video when the arrows and circle are used to draw the learners attention to a different section of the document. Next, I used the personalization principle through the speed and tone of my voice. This allowed me to speak in a conversational style and engage the learner. In regards to the CRAP principles, repetition was demonstrated through the positioning of text on each page. In addition, the text was the same color and size on each slide. The text color was chosen to contrast the slide behind it. Finally, the text was aligned to the right on each slide with the exception of the opening and closing of the video.
